The Paper Plane Experment
Abstruct
The purpose of this experiment is to see whether a paper airplane flies farther or less if the center is taped together. This will be determined through hand tossing.

procedure
1. Measuring tape was laid out in the hallway2. Built 2 paper airplanes
3. The taped plane had 2 stripes aft and forward of CG
4. Planes were the thrown starting a 0 inches
Test 1
Contary to to Hypothesis the open plane flew father than the closed plane by 41 inches. The open plane also devated to the right, while the closed went straight
Test 2
The closed plane flew over 212 inches devating to the right. The open plane flew 173 inches and flew straight
Test 3
The closed plane flew over 220 inches with a straight flight profile. The open plane diviated to the right striking the wall, landing at 164 inches
Test 4
The closed plane flew over 220 inches again with a straight flight profile. The open plane diviated to the left , landing at 156 inches
Test 5
The closed plane flew 196 inches and flew straight. The open plane flew 158 inches and also devated to the left and struck the wall
Test 6
The closed plane flew over 220 inches and flew straight. The open plane flew 156 inches and also devated to the also flew relatively straight
Test 7
The closed plane flew 214 inches and flew relatively straight. The open plane flew 186 inches and also devated to the also flew straight
During testing it was found that the open plane had more of a spuratic flight pattern when compared to the closed plane. The leading theiory is that the close plane is more stream lined than the open. The air may have hit the open up paper in a iradic mannor caousing instablity in flight. However this could also be due to the inconsisent trowing, more data is needed to see if throwing force and angle were consistent. Also It was found that the closed plane would stay in the air a little longer than the open plane, which then caused It to fly farther. This provides evedince to support the Hypothesis, that the closed plane will fly farther than an open plane
The findings of this experiment are that The closed plane does infact fly farther, and has better flight characteristics than the open plane. with 6/7 flights having the the closed plane fly farther and more times than nought flying with more accuracy. The uncontroled varibales shuch as my own human error should be taken into account, but I'd say that the data supports the Hypothesis.
